Expanding Professional Development for Teachers in The Gambia
Through a long-term partnership with Side by Side Organization, EDGE has launched a four-week professional development course for 25 teachers from schools across The Gambia.
Most Gambian teachers have limited access to professional development opportunities. Many teachers reported feeling isolated from others and were looking for opportunities to improve their own skills as they invest in improving educational outcomes for their students.
This four-week program aims to:
Inspire teachers to continue growing and improving in their craft.
Equip teachers to learn and implement new methods and strategies in their classrooms.
Provide support for teachers as they identify problems and solutions for their unique contexts.
With the content and training developed and delivered by EDGE, the program is facilitated by Side by Side Organization and is hosted by the American Corner.
